The Cleveland Area Board of REALTORS® (CABOR) announced its support of the Board of Revision amendment to the Cuyahoga County Charter.

The proposed Amendment would create one Board of Revision, which would be composed of the County Executive, an appointee (elector of the County) by the Council President, and either the Fiscal Officer or Treasurer. This trio would essentially act as the employer of the hearing panels and the individuals serving on the panels. Under current law, it is unclear to whom property owners should report issues, concerns, or complaints regarding one of the panels or its members.

CABOR Chairwoman Joanne Zettl said, “This amendment is a real win for homeowners. We’ve heard from many of our REALTOR® members that had clients with less than pleasant experiences in front of a Board of Revision panel. No one seemed to know who the appropriate person to share those concerns and issues with was.”

CABOR Chair-Elect Seth Task stated, “I am happy to see that the county is taking measures to improve the service it provides to property owners, especially in areas where service and attitude have been so poor at times.”

“We believe Amendment 4 is a step in the right direction for all property owners in the county,” Zettl added.            “CABOR encourages its members and voters throughout Cuyahoga County to support this amendment on the ballot November 5th.”
