There’s No Place Like Home

On May 8, 2014, the Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors® (ACAR) held its first annual silent and live auction to benefit the Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC).

The sold-out Wizard of Oz themed event featured items such as tickets to see Wicked on Broadway, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns, and several concerts at Blossom Music Center and Jacobs Pavilion, as well as household items, electronics, Don Drumm artwork, and much more.  The live auction was led by auctioneer and Realtor® Lori Kiko, with a guest performance by ACAR President Seth Task.

The RPAC trustees and members of the auction subcommittee worked for several months to make the event successful. Thanks to their hard work and the support of the ACAR members attending, more than $36,000 was raised for RPAC.

A special thank you to everyone who donated items and to our senior sponsors, Nations Lending Corporation and First Federal of Lakewood; junior sponsors, Ohio Real Title Agency, Pillar to Post Home Inspectors; and name sponsors the Kiko Company, Village Title Agency, 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, Patriot Title Agency, Two Men & A Truck, Fifth Third Bank, Guardian Title, Cross Country Mortgage, and RiteRug.

Save the date for the next RPAC fundraiser – July 11, 2014. ACAR’s YPN is hosting a “Hoedown on the Shore” at Wendy Park. The event will feature country-western themed activities, a DJ, live band, and the 2nd Annual RPAC Buckaroo contest.
