ACAR Members Promote REALTOR® Issues to General Assembly
Recently, several members of the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS® (ACAR) traveled to Columbus for the Ohio Association of REALTORS® Annual Legislative Conference.
While there, the group heard from experts about a variety of topics including an update from the Ohio Division of Real Estate, the impact of oil and gas leasing on current and future mortgages, Ohio’s economic forecast, and the current happenings in the General Assembly, as well as both major political parties in Ohio.
ACAR members also met with several area legislators to discuss topics such as tax concerns in the FY 2016-17 Operating Budget, septic systems, meth remediation, and Fair Housing. Thank you to Senators Frank LaRose, Tom Patton, Tom Sawyer, Mike Skindell, and Kenny Yuko, as well as Representatives Nikki Antonio, Nick Celebrezze, Greta Johnson, Kent Smith, and Emilia Sykes for meeting with us and hearing our concerns about those issues.
Next week, ACAR leaders will travel to Washington, DC, for the annual REALTORS® Legislative Meetings and Trade Expo. Those attending will meet with area Members of Congress to encourage support of issues important to the real estate industry.State Issues Federal Issues
