ACAR Endorses Issue 12
Today, the Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors® (ACAR) endorsed Issue 12, the proposed 5.98 mill bond issue for the Cuyahoga Falls City School District (CFCSD), on the November 3, 2015, General Election ballot.
ACAR believes that the quality of public schools influences where people buy a home and what they are willing to pay for it. Regardless of whether they have children, buyers care about the reputation of the schools because they know that schools directly affect a community’s vitality as well as its property values.
Issue 12 is needed to give the Cuyahoga Falls community quality schools that provide an up-to-the-date environment which is conducive to learning and brings out the best in both teachers and students. Issue 12 warrants an endorsement from ACAR because:
- School quality is among the top four community-related factors influencing homebuyers decisions,
- 75% of homebuyers in the most recent National Association of Realtors® Community Preference Survey cited high quality public schools as either very important or somewhat important in their decision-making process,
- It will save the local tax payers $22.5 million dollars (the amount of funds available to CFCSD from Ohio School Facility Commission), and
- Quality schools, such as the new facilities proposed in the CFSD, enhance the overall quality of life, strengthen communities, and attract new life to the neighborhoods that surround them.
For these reasons, ACAR is pleased to endorse Issue 12, as it will benefit all of its homeowners, businesses, other residents and guests in the school district.
