ACAR Mourns Passing of Jennie Chiccola
Jennie Chiccola, former broker/owner of Jennie Chiccola Realty and Northeast Ohio real estate icon, has passed away.

Chiccola was born in 1915 in Cleveland to Russian immigrants Ben and Sarah Weiser. She was the oldest of three sisters who were raised on a farm in Geneva. She graduated from Cork High School in 1934 and attended The Ohio State University for one year.
Chiccola began her real estate career about 1965. She earned her real estate license adn quickly thereafter became a broker and started her own company — making her one of the first women to achieve this feat, while becoming a pioneer in the industry.
She partnered with several other real estate professionals over the years, but is best known for owning Jennie Chiccola Realty that at one time boasted of 150 agents.
Chiccola was also active in the Cleveland Area Board of Realtors (now Akron Cleveland Association of Realtors) and the association’s East Side Round Table. She served as president of the area’s Women’s Council of Realtors in 1972 and 1974, an honor of which she is still very proud.
Chiccola received a Resolution from the Ohio Association of REALTORS honoring her 100th birthday and longevity as a REALTOR.
