Area Officials Recognize Fair Housing Month

The sale and purchase of a home is one of the most significant events that any person will experience in his or her lifetime. It is more than the simple purchase of housing. It includes the hopes, dreams, aspirations, and economic destiny of those involved.  REALTORS® take very seriously the role they play in this process, especially abiding by the Fair Housing Act. The Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS® is encouraging all of our local leaders to join us in recognizing April 2016 as Fair Housing Month.

April 11, 2018, marks the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended, which makes illegal any discrimination in the sale, lease or rental of housing, or making housing otherwise unavailable, because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
