From OAR: Ohio’s REALTORS invest nearly $645,000 in the 2013 RPAC campaign!
By Sara Calo, Chair, OAR Political Activity & RPAC Fundraising Committee
Thanks to the hard work and extreme generosity of Ohio’s REALTOR community the profession’s political voice was strengthened, as nearly $645,000 was raised during this year’s recently concluded REALTORS Political Action Committee campaign.
Our 2013 tally exceeded our campaign total from a year ago by more than $100,000, and shattered this year’s goal of $550,000.
On behalf of Vice Chair Phil Morrical III, the entire RPAC Fundraising Committee and our OAR leadership team…please accept my heartfelt thanks for your support!
Every hard-earned dollar that you invested will help advance our industry’s goal of protecting private property rights and supporting the free enterprise system that serve as the foundation of the American Dream.
The value and importance of RPAC cannot be discounted…and our political activities throughout 2013 reinforced the critical role REALTORS play. Case in point was our active role in thwarting passage of a plan that would have imposed a statewide sales tax on all professional services, including every real estate service this past spring. We tapped every resource at our disposal — from the grassroots strength of our 26,000 members living and working in every community across our great state…to the top-notch government affairs staff that represent our interests at the State House…to the investments we’ve made to RPAC. We succeeded, but the threat of lawmakers reconsidering a similar revenue plan remains. Your remarkable support of RPAC will ensure that our message resonates.
