ACAR Members Hear from Cuyahoga County Mayors
Last week, ACAR and its Legislative Committee hosted the first session of a new series that gives real estate professionals a chance to meet with local area officials and learn about the latest happenings in Northeast Ohio.
From city hall to the state house to the U.S. Capitol, our elected officials are making decisions that have a huge impact on the bottom line for Realtors® and your customers. In fact, a recent survey by ACAR found that nearly half of the respondents agreed that it is very or extremely important that Realtors® advocate for private property rights. Programming like Mayors Day will strengthen those advocacy efforts.
The Cuyahoga County Mayors Day featured mayors (or their representatives) from Strongsville, South Euclid, Pepper Pike, Parma, North Royalton, Lakewood, Euclid, and Brecksville. Each person spoke of various housing incentives, economic development, safety forces, and other amenities unique to that municipality.
The next Mayors Day is scheduled for August 13, 2015, and will feature mayors from Summit County. To learn more about the Legislative Committee or to volunteer as a community watchdog, contact ACAR’s Government Affairs Director Jamie McMillen.
