ACAR Honored for Community Service Efforts

ACAR was recently honored by the Ohio Association of REALTORS for its participation in the ReBuilding Together project earlier this year. The occasion was commemorated by a presentation of the 2015 Certificate of Merit Award September 22, 2015 at the OAR Convention in Columbus. The OAR Certificate of Merit Award recognizes a Local Board/Association that has participated in a community service or housing needs program.

The ReBuilding Together Northeast Ohio project was located in Slavic Village. A group of ACAR Members volunteered for several hours on a Saturday in July to assist at the home of a Vietnam Veteran. The group repaired stairs, scraped and painted his deck and a portion of his home. They also did extensive landscaping in the front and back of the home.

The mission of ReBuilding Together is the help homeowners stay warm, safe and dry. This coincides with the mission of ACAR’s Community Outreach & Charity Committee which is, “to support local charities actively involved in our community. We are committed to the welfare and prosperity of the communities where we live and work. Through our charitable contributions and member involvement, we strive to help create more productive and enriched communities.”
