The Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS® Announces Board of Directors Election Results, REALTOR® of the Year, and 2016 Award Winners
BROADVIEW HEIGHTS, Ohio, Oct. 20, 2016 – At its annual meeting on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, The Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS® (ACAR) announced the results of its 2016 election. Five newly-elected members will serve on the Board of Directors for terms beginning in 2017.
The Board of Directors is composed of a minimum of sixteen directors elected by the membership and is the governing body of the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS®. The board comprises 14 REALTOR Members, one affiliate member, and one Commercial/Industrial REALTOR. Directors serve for three years.
The following ACAR members have been elected to the Board of Directors:
- Jacqueline Bowman, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Simon & Salhany Realty
- Drew Gaebelein, Keller Williams Greater Cleveland Southeast
- Sharon Znidarsic, Howard Hanna
- Brant Smith, NEO Realty Group
- Mike Bankowski, NLC Loans

Also announced was the 2016 REALTOR® of the Year as well as the winners of several annual awards, including two new awards for 2016. The new awards include the Young Professional Award, which recognizes REALTOR® members under 40 years old who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and professional qualities; and the Good Neighbor Award, which recognizes REALTORS® who have made an extraordinary impact on their community, or on the national or world stage, through charitable and volunteer work.
This year’s award winners are:
- REALTOR® of the Year: Seth Task, CRS, GREEN, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services
- Affiliate of the Year: Marianna Jones, Guardian Title & Guaranty
- Young Professional Award: Drew Gaebelein, Keller Williams Greater Cleveland Southeast
- Young Professional Award: Danielle Kelly, Russell Realty Company
- Young Professional Award: Kady Overton, Keller Williams Chervenic Realty
- Good Neighbor Award: Tim Damiano, Russell Realty Company

ACAR members also voted to approve two ballot initiatives; one to establish a standing communications committee, and another to remove the transitional board and officers.
