Middleburg Heights Implements POS on Septic

At the Middleburg Heights City Council meeting on June 13, 2017, Ordinance 2017-39 was unanimously passed. The legislation creates a new chapter of city code entitled, “Point of Sale Inspection of Septic Systems.”

According to the ordinance, “No owner of any premises with a septic system located thereon shall enter into an agreement to sell, convey or transfer said premise, without first obtaining from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health a Certificate of Septic System Evaluation.”  A copy Ordinance No. 2017-39 is available here.

The Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH) reports that there are 299 properties in Middleburg Heights with a septic system in use.
