Recently, a special recognition event honoring ACAR’s top REALTORS® PAC (RPAC) investors was held at the Stillwater Place in the Cleveland Zoo. This annual event also recognizes candidates, many in attendance, supported by RPAC.
During the reception, the 2015 RPAC Trustees were recognized and thanked for their efforts – both fundraising and vetting candidates – for the General Election. Government Affairs Director Jamie McMillen said, “Our RPAC trustees practice what they preach when it comes to investing in RPAC. They understand the political landscape of our two counties better than most, and most importantly put aside their personal beliefs to make decisions based on REALTOR® Party policies. This year, they reviewed 52 candidates, endured 26 hours of interviews and deliberations, and awarded more than $40,000 to local candidates, issue campaigns, and county parties.”
Because of the work they do to make our local RPAC so successful, ACAR members raised more than $105,000 this year.
“RPAC gives us a seat at the table…if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu,” said McMillen.
Guests were treated to an evening reception, along with the opportunity to interact with a kookaburra and bearded lizard, both residents of the Cleveland Zoo.
Special thanks to members of Ohio’s General Assembly, 2016 OAR President Sara Calo, and NAR Political Representative Lindsay Shuba for joining us.
