The Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS® (ACAR) has endorsed Issue 73 for the Parma City School District. Issue 73 is a 6.5 mil levy that will fund the creation of 2 new campuses and the renovation of the existing Parma Senior High School.

In a letter to Superintendent Charles Smialek, President Brant Smith said, "The ACAR Board of Directors believes that the quality of public schools influences where people buy a home and establish roots.  Regardless of whether they have children, buyers care about the reputation of the schools because they know that schools directly affect a community’s vitality as well as its property values.

"We believe Issue 73 will give the Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills communities quality schools that provide an up-to-the-date environment which is conducive to learning and bringing out the best in both teachers and students. Issue 73 warrants an endorsement from ACAR because (1) school quality is among the top four community-related factors influencing homebuyers decisions, (2) according to the National Association of REALTORS® 2019 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers, more than half of recent buyers with children under the age of 18 living in their home cited quality of the school district as an influencing factor in their neighborhood choice, (3) quality schools, such as the new facilities proposed in the PCSD, enhance the overall quality of life, strengthen communities, and attract new life to the neighborhoods that surround them."

"Quality schools are an asset to any community, and we believe Issue 73 will benefit all of the district’s residents and guests."
