The resignation of Marcia Fudge from U.S. Congress to become the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development resulted in a flurry of candidates filing to run for the vacated congressional seat. As a result, ACAR's RPAC Trustees were tasked with interviewing candidates running for the open seat. All verified candidates were invited to participate in a review process. After careful consideration, the ACAR Board of Directors endorsed Shontel Brown for the position. An excerpt of the endorsement letter is below.
I am pleased to inform you that the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS® (ACAR) has endorsed your candidacy for Representative of Ohio’s 11th Congressional District.
The Board of Directors believes that your knowledge of and empathy for REALTOR® issues, your integrity and ethical conduct, your competence, the importance of this election, and your ability to win and serve effectively warrant an endorsement from ACAR and the support of the real estate community.
You are an asset to Northeast Ohio and will be an outstanding representative for Ohio’s 11th Congressional District. The Board looks forward to working with you throughout your career...
